SASF Adoption Standards & Polices
SASF strives to provide our adopters and our pets with the best possible match for them both. Our adoption process is designed to ensure that our pets get placed with the most appropriate home. A responsible adoption program is developed and implemented with every adoption. SASF has developed criteria for approved adopters and for unsuitable adopters. Adoption coordinators make judgments based on SASF trainer’s temperament-testing procedures to ensure that animals are “fit” for adoption and to facilitate the best possible match between adopters and animals. Adopters will sign a contract under which they agree to provide a specified level of care for their new pet. We require that our dogs live inside with their families and receive adequate exercise and attention. We prefer that our cats live safely inside only in their new homes useless cat is part of our Barn Cat or Advo-Cat Program. A prospective adopter’s current pet(s) must be current on their veterinary care. The current pet(s) must also have a consistent history of annual vet care. All of our available pets are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines and microchipped.
