Rescue Right Here! is our call to action to strengthen the lifesaving impact of local animal welfare. At SASF we believe that some of the most urgent and meaningful rescues happen right in our own community…especially in municipal shelters—where animals often face the greatest risk and have the fewest resources. By encouraging adopters, supporters, and rescue partners to “rescue right here,” we can directly reduce overcrowding, shorten lengths of stay, and give more animals a second chance at a loving home.
We also invite fellow rescue organizations and community partners to join us in making a local-first commitment. Through collaboration, resource-sharing, and a focus on nearby shelters, we can create a more responsive, compassionate network of care. Every adoption, foster placement, and transfer within our community helps build a stronger safety net for animals in need – because making a difference starts right here.
