The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation is kicking off a full service pet pantry to help ensure that no pet goes hungry or lacks food. SASF has established this program to collect pet food donations and has recently partnered with Heart of the Hamptons to help Town of Southampton residents in need.
Last year alone, SASF received over 2,000 owner surrender requests, many from families struggling to afford proper pet care. To help prevent owners from ever reaching that point, our pet food pantry provided for more than 750 four-legged friends, helping keep these beloved companions home where they belong.
How You Can Help
Donate! You can donate dog and cat food (canned or dry), and cat litter to the shelter at 102 Old Riverhead Rd W Hampton Bays, NY 11946. You can also make a donation online or via Venmo. Donate Here
Host a Pet Pantry Donation Drive! You can host the drive in your neighborhood, with your sports team, Girl Scout or Boy Scout troop, camp group, or school class/club!
You can collect and drop off at the shelter, and we will offer community service hours based on donation size (see below). We will take care of everything else and ensure it is distributed to local families in need.
- 10 hours for 100 cans (or equivalent to cans)
- 15 hours for 150 cans (or equivalent to cans)
- 20 hours for 200 cans (or equivalent to cans)
